Officer Travis Brown of the Ferguson Police Department (former St. Louis County Police Officer) was assaulted last night at a protest in Ferguson. Officer Brown has not woken up since the assault and had brain surgery last night. Unfortunately the assault had not been reported by the press.

Officers from the El Paso Police Department made a special visit to Esperanza Moreno Library as part of their summer library program, reading to children and fostering community relationships. The event aimed to encourage literacy and build positive connections between officers, children, and parents in the patrol area, according to a press release from the El Paso Police Department.

The hours have gone from 160 to 80 (ESST).  Sick Leave Benefits for Care of Relatives. Employees may use paid sick leave for absences due to an illness of or injury to a member of their immediate family, as defined in A1ticle 27.
County PA Agreement Reached

SLPOA is happy to announce that we have successfully negotiated a contract for our members in the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.  This agreement covers Attorney I, Attorney II, Attorney III, Investigators, and the Assistant Chief Investigator.  An online vote was held last week which resulted in a unanimous ratification of the contract.

El Paso Police Academy reduces from 11 months to 8.5; promises to maintain high standards

The El Paso Police Department’s 11-month training academy has been known as one of the longest programs in the country. But beginning in May, that will all change. Beginning with the May academy class, the time spent in the training program will be condensed from 11 months to 8 1/2, helping get officers to answer the call for help sooner as the city of El Paso continues to grow.

The El Paso Police Department, along with the El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association, renamed police headquarters at 911 N. Raynor on Sunday morning, March 3 in honor of longtime Police Chief Greg Allen who died unexpectedly last year. Allen, who led the department for nearly 15 years, died on Jan. 17, 2023 at the age of 71. March 3 would have been his 73nd birthday. KTSM.

Luke and Eric will be leaving for Sheridan on Wednesday. They will be representing the Sheriff's Office in their Honor Guard capacity. The Sheriff's Office is giving them 40 hours (their work week), a vehicle and gas for the trip. The Sheriff's Office Association is picking up the tab for their hotel and WCDSG will be taking care of their per-diem.
